Their 20th Anniversary World Tour kicked of in WA at the start of February 2010 with a performance at The Big Day Out followed by regional shows and the official launch of Accelerator at Amplifier on February 27th. The band then powered through a month long tour of the USA playing Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Houston, Austin (SxSW), Cleveland, Chicago, New York and Boston. The Chevelles now back home in beautiful WA will play several select low key shows for the rest of 2010 with the emphasis on having fun, writing a new album and reacquainting with their local fans who dig the cool garage rock sound!
Internationally acclaimed rock sensations The Chevelles whose rock track was recently featured in the worldwide release of the Sony Game "Rockband", are thrilled to announce their latest album release, "Accelerator". In recent years The Chevelles have broken attendance and bar records at their showcase at the famed South by South West music conference in Austin Texas, recorded a track "Get Back to New York City" for the US Fox Sports NBL WOrld Series, and are set for another year of extensive world touring to celebrate their 20th year in rock n roll.
"Accelerator" is the 5th full studio album and the second album release through Little Steven's (Bruce Springsteen E Street Band, The Soprano's) Wicked Cool Records and is out on February 15th 2010. The 11 track album was recorded at Forensic Lounge and Atomic Studios in Perth over a 12 month period mixed by the late John Villani at Northbridge Sound Studios. It is the bands finest album to date showcasing waves of blistering guitars, soaring "beach boy-eske" harmonies and tight head shaking tunes.
