Justin Walshe

Fremantle's Folk-Country extravaganza, The Justin Walshe Folk Machine, hit the road at the end of October to sail their new single "Pockets Full of Gold" to both sides of the countryside.

The first single from their much anticipated second album (due out early 2010) delivers two tracks, Pockets Full of Gold and a very jealous B-side, Miss Whisky, recorded at Couch Studios and co-produced with Shaun O-Callaghan. Pockets Full of Gold, set to a hypnotic swing with sinister slide guitar and ghostly harmonies, tells the true tale of the mysterious shipwreck of The General Grant after leaving Victoria's Goldfields in 1886. Miss Whisky is a rollicking whimsical love story about a very attractive bottle of whisky. The seduction, the good times and the inevitable tragic end. Listen to the washboard tell it like it is.

The West Coast shows culminate in a huge hometown extravaganza at The Norfolk Basement in Fremantle on Friday Nov 6 with an inflated Machine full of special guests plus support from Xave Brown & His Magic Band, Hang On St Christopher and Mitch Becker. The first 50 through the door will score a free copy of the new single. And if you can't wait until then you can listen to the new tracks now on their myspace player - www.myspace.com/justinwalshe

The East Coast leg welcomes back to The Machine former members Laurence of Troy and Jason Snook with the cameo star of the viola, Jason Bunn busting his gut strings for shows in his home town of Victoria.
