 zxspecky to release new album!
Perth's masters of high-speed distorto-pop, Perth four-piece zxspecky are gearing up for album number four: Vegetative State.
Okay maybe it's not an album this time. It's definitely a CD though. This here is nine tracks of premium pop music, compressed down to 15 minutes of essential elements: with the guitars turned up to "chainsaw" and the lyrics set to "genius". The harmonies may or may not be on "cheese".
Featuring tracks from two sessions in both 2007 & 2008, this release features a mix of live favourites ("Ayahuasca", "Eurotrash Group Therapist"), and more obscure album titles such as "Unsolicited Promotional Material Romantic" and the epic "John, Where's The Party At?".
In typical DIY form, the band will be eschewing the clubs for their CD launch in early June; instead the launch is set to feature cartons of booze, something like six bands, a BBQ, and a shitload of good times.
