SUGAR ARMYSUGAR ARMY reveal album title

“...clever, authoritative, occasionally hypnotic, then careening back to manic again... brilliant.”
-- Michael Wylie, Xpress live review

“Sugar Army – this is a name we will all be familiar with by year’s end.”
-- Ben Preece, Time Off live review

With their single ‘Acute’ sitting happy at #6 on the AIR (Australian Independent Records) Independent Radio Airplay chart, Perth’s Sugar Army have released the killer song on iTunes. Previously it was only available as a free download on triple j’s website, ‘Acute’ is the first single from the band’s forthcoming debut album.

Sugar Army have just revealed the album title: The Parallels Amongst Ourselves.

The band are this week putting the final touches to their debut LP and will soon release a second single ‘Tongues In Cheeks’ to whet eager tastebuds so keep your ears peeled for new smashing rhythms from these Perth wunderkinds. As Dom Alessio from triple j’s Home & Hosed says on his blog: “Wait for the next single... Genius? It's very close.” You can read the rest of his blog entry at www.abc.net.au/triplej/homeandhosed/blog/s2563434.htm

Sugar Army impressed the masses last week when they played triple j’s Live At The Wireless in Perth as part of the WAMi Festival, with the venue filled to capacity within the first hour and over a thousand more queuing to get in. The band are five-time 2009 WAMi (West Australian Music industry) Award nominees for Most Popular Act, Best Rock Act, Best Male Vocalist (Pat McLaughlin), Best Bassist (Ian Berney) and Most Popular Music Video.

Stand ready for Sugar Army one of 2009’s most promising Australian rock bands.

ACUTE single is out now through iTunes.

SUGAR ARMY’S debut album THE PARALLELS AMONGST OURSELVES will be released on JULY 11 independently through SHOCK.
