Probably the greatest thing about being one of the biggest local music supporters today is the great line up of bands. The locals cheered for all they were worth because Emerald City loves us and we love them right back. These boys are first-rate musicians to me, writing skilful and entertaining music to please all ages of the public.
The band started with a bang. From the very first note to the last they were entertaining and enjoyable. The guys showed to be very good by not just pleasing the crowd with their music but to have girls kissing on stage and the old drummer Cam come in and play one song just for old time’s sake.
Towards the end of the line up, ‘Not ready for Love’ was defiantly a crowd pleaser watching the crowd suddenly surge even tighter towards the front of the stage. This song really showed the true colours of what these boys are made of. With close to one of the finest simple melodies and greasy guitar riffs, Emerald City showed to be very tight and defiantly owned the night. The audience made sure to give something back by screaming out tag lines to choruses and pumped their fists in the air throughout the whole set.
Later on down the track Emerald City will be seen as a very influential band within the 80’s metal genre.

Tell us about Emerald City.
Each and every one of us have many similarities, and many many differences. How ever the one thing that drives us all forward together is our shared love of rock n' roll in any form. We all share the same dream to rock the world. It's been a long struggle to find success in our line up but now Emerald City are set and just waiting to explode.
Where does the name originate?
Emerald City was the original name of Casablanca Records before they signed KISS. In Gene Simmons Autobiography he states that Emerald City approached KISS about signing them and they agreed that they didn't like the name of the record label, so said unless you change the name we say no. Soon after Emerald became Casablaca Kiss were signed and Emerald City was our new name, thanks to Nick Rossetti who came up with the idea.
Do you have a main source of inspiration for your music?
Well we all have our preferences, however share the common interest of 80s inspired hard rock. I guess a lot of our ideas come from there but we also try our best to keep it fresh.
What are your songs about? (What specific themes do they cover?)
Most of our songs are about what we know best. We all love to party. They're mostly about partying or running amuck, just having a good time and enjoying life while we can. You also get the occasional meaningful song that someone would right involving girls or other sensible issues, but the whole sex drugs rock n roll thing certainly does jump to mind.

What are the highlights that stand out in your mind, as true moments of achievements?
I’m sure we would all agree on a couple of these. First and foremost, being given the opportunity to support Kiss front man Paul Stanley on his Live to Win solo tour. Having Paul sit and watch us play a few tunes in sound check was an amazing feeling. Playing with such bands as Lynch Mobb, Faster Pussycat, Taxiride, Screaming Jets was also incredible. Playing side to side of some of your child hood and current heros is an amazing amazing thing. As far as moments of achievement, would have to say recording and releasing our first EP and film clip was awesome.
What do you love most about performing?
There is no greater feeling then to be up on stage rocking out and feeding off the crowds energy. Its like a drug the more you get the more you want.
What’s next on the agenda for Emerald City?
With the release of our EP 'Unleashed' who knows what's around the corner. We are currently writing some new tunes and look forward to playing every show.
