John Read Band - "Free" CD Review

"Free" a 12 track CD from one of Perth's local bands "The John Read Band". I would have to say that I thoroughly enjoyed listening to every track on this CD. A talented group of guys putting feeling and emotion into their music, well written and well versed. "Lost Romance" was nominated WAMi Best Song of the Year in 2008.

If I had to put a "sounds like" to this review I would say it's a cross between Dylan and Clapton, not saying it's 70's music but it has a very easy listening feel to it. It's a CD that you could put in your car's CD player and enjoy the drive in peak hour traffic. It's a CD that you could put in your stereo as you are entertaining your friends. It's a CD that you can sit back on a Sunday night whilst enjoying your own company along with your favourite beverage - it's a CD for all occasions.

What makes this CD so enjoyable is that you can hear and feel that these guys enjoy their music, they put passion and soul into their music of which can be heard through their vocals and instrument playing. Well done guys... a must add CD to anybody's collection.
