The Bigness are a seven piece outfit that formed late last year at Central TAFE Leederville where they were all completing certificate III in music Perfornance. Since that time however they have managed to make their mark on the Perth music scene, winning their annual TAFE band comp, third place at this year's Gozzi rock festival and first place at YACJAM (South Perth).
The Bigness sound can be described as an eclectic fusion of genre’s, hard to avoid when you have seven very different members, from different musical backgrounds. They believe this combination acts in their favour , as the sound they produce is fresh, original and appeals to listeners of a wide range of genre’s, although most popular amongst the hiphop and funk crowd due to the bands strong hiphop funk and soul roots.
The Bigness live show is definitely something to keep an eye out for, with seven band members (four of whom are vocalists) the stage is never boring. The Bigness promise (and deliver everytime) an energy packed show, full of all the funk, hiphop and gyrating you can handle. The band aren’t bad either, with live bass, guitar, drums, and keys the sound is always full as well as being an unusual way to perform hiphop.
Having played many of the popular music venues in Perth, the Bigness are now looking to lay down some quality recordings and keep spreading their sound around, whilst playing as many gigs as possible to gain more experience and exposure on the Perth music scene. Keep your eyes peeled for a show near you.
