My name is Shaye (f/24yrs) and I am currently on the search for a band, as I am extremelly keen to start working ASAP.
Here's a little bout me.. I 've been singing for 11years, successfully competing around Australia as a child, to proffessionally working. I 've sung at weddings, corporate functions, local clubs/pubs, and have recently been a top 50 Australain Idol Contestant.
I played piano as a child, however cant remember too much of that, but I am really comfortable on guitar, and although I dont play much, I would love to maybe get some lessons as it feels natural to me. I have travelled around Australia for the last 5 years, and have had the opportunity to sing with some amazing muso's along the way.
Home to me is in Cairns, Qld.. but I have recently moved back to Perth where I am planning to stay now. I love it here, and I also believe that WA has a lot to offer me regarding my music.
My influences are singers like "Tracy Chapman, Joss Stone, Norah Jones, Jewel, Fleetwood Mac, Dirty Lucy, Sarah McGloclan, Wendy Matthews".. you get the picture. Growing up on my grandma's old records, I'm a bit of an old soul.. but can sing pretty much any style.
It would be great to get amongst the music scene and meet some working bands. Even to just have a jam with those who share a similar passion for music styles would be great!! also anyone that writes songs/poetry.
