Young indie pop rockers Rainy Day Women have come a long way since starting out as a go-to support band for Birds Of Tokyo, Tame Impala and British India. Near-constant live performance, writing and recording for the past five years has taught the band a lot of important lessons – from which they have taken the best of themselves and given it a masterful touch.
The band’s approach to song-writing is the same as it has always been, but they have developed new skills and new ideas to help craft music more defined and captivating. Artistically aware that less can so often be more, Rainy Day Women stick to the basics of having a really good song to begin with, and then dress it up tastefully.
More than anywhere else though, the chemistry of Rainy Day Women can be seen at its best when they take the stage, and, although they’re all pretty young, at this point in the game Rainy Day Women are somewhat veterans. After a few years of gigging, a line-up change, and the gentle encouragement of receiving national airplay; it’s safe to say the band is better than ever.
