Dyslexic Fish has been playing together
for almost five years. Their music draws on a diverse
range of influences from Ben Folds Five to Rage Against
The Machine, the fusion of which has led to the development
of a sound unique to Dyslexic Fish. The line-up of vocals,
guitars, horns, bass and drums compliments this sound
well, a blend of funk, rock and jazz.
The band were the winners of the Joondalup
"Battle of the Bands" in 1998 and "Gozzy
Rock" in 1999. The prize for the latter competition
was two days in Pet Rock Recording Studio where Dyslexic
Fish recorded a four-track EP. This CD received a number
of favourable reviews, reaching number three on the
78 Records Local Charts and gaining radio airplay around
the state on stations such as RTR and Heritage FM.
